Deciding to join Pitt Band is a life-changing choice. Since the University of Pittsburgh does not have a school of music, and music majors are not required to be members of the marching band, we all participate in Pitt Band because we love the experience it has to offer. Because more than being simply a group or an activity, Pitt Band is an experience of its own. In addition to our love for the pride and tradition that we represent, we are incredibly close within our sections and the band at large. Pitt Band goes beyond excellence in marching and music. It is a group of unforgettable individuals who have chosen the opportunity of a lifetime.
