2026 University of Pittsburgh Drumline Preliminary Auditions
All Pitt Band Drumline auditions for 2026 will be accepted live and also may be submitted via video.
Audition dates: April 4, May 16, June 6
Live auditions are preferred--you can sign up for a time below. However, if you are unable to make it to Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA for the live audition dates and wish to send a video audition, please submit your videos by June 6.

Our maximum capacity at this time is up to 32-34 members (10 snares, 5 tenors, 7 bass drums, 10-12 cymbals) which may include alternates in each squad (at the staff’s discretion). HOWEVER, even though we have a maximum capacity, there is NO guarantee we will reach it. We will only accept members who we feel are ready to perform in a major-university drumline. Refer to the ‘What We Look For’ document posted above.
We have two Drumline camps over the summer. They are held at the Oakland campus and lodging and many meals are provided. Drumline 2026 summer camp dates:
Drum Camp 1 – June 26-28
Drum Camp 2 – July 17-19
Note: We do accept some students from other area universities based on available spots in each section. If we do not fill a section with Pitt students, we accept students from other universities. Be sure to inform Dr. Townsend if you are not a Pitt student.
